Through this website, applicants may submit project proposals for consideration under the Garden State Energy Storage Program (GSESP) solicitation.
Our Mission
The GSESP is a multi-phase initiative established to support the deployment of 2,000 megawatts (MW) of energy storage by 2030, as mandated by the Clean Energy Act of 2018. .
Garden State Energy Storage Program
Solicitation Phase 1, Tranche 2
Phase 1 of the GSESP is open to transmission-scale projects, including standalone storage, storage additions to existing solar installations, and solar-plus-storage resources. Storage additions to existing solar installations, as well as the storage component of any solar-plus-storage resource, are eligible only if they do not currently receive, and will not receive, any storage incentives from the Successor Solar Incentive (SuSI) Program.
The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) launched Phase 1, Tranche 2 of the GSESP via an order issued on March 4, 2026.
Bidders may use this website to access solicitation materials and access the required forms for submitting project prequalification information and final bids.
